Bio
The Crow Girls are an eclectic vocal blend of Indigenous and Contemporary genres. Karen and Julie have written and performed together for almost a decade. Their songs are powerful and beautifully crafted, basing their writing on the simplicity of love as well as social and political issues.
Their debut CD "Where the Green Grass Grows" has been nominated for a Canadian Aboriginal Music Award for Best Aboriginal Producer/Engineer (along with Bill Hobson of Crow Town Records), a nomination for best Aboriginal Album from The Canadian Gospel Music Awards, and Karen Donaldson Shepherd was nominated for Best Aboriginal Songwriter for the Canadian Folk Music awards. All the nominations took place in 2007.
