Named to represent the flowing synergy of electricity and soul, The Current reveals a new era of blazing rock n' roll. Their powerful rock style is derived from a wide variety of influences ranging from Guns n’ Roses to the Allman Brothers. The result is a soulful blend of dark country, delta blues, and hard-driving rock that is intoxicating enough to get the sternest wallflowers on their feet. Adding fuel to the fire, their high-energy live performance displays astounding amounts of raw talent.
In essence, The Current has distilled a 101 proof cocktail of pure rock that celebrates unparallel musicianship and an ability to create something truly unique. They have performed over 100 shows on the west coast at such venues as the House of Blues, Knitting Factory, Key Club, and Mojo Music Festival. They also caught a buzz at the world famous Viper Room when they performed a full summer as the resident house band.
On their first studio recording, the band realizes an anthem rock style that is rare in today’s congested bandscape. The opening track “Thank the Fool” is a balls to the wall rocker with a melody that sticks with you all day. Real music may be a dying art in this age where cookie-cutter bands dominate mass media, but The Current is about to sweep you away.
