The Curse Within

The Curse Within is a Canadian metal band with a melodic infusion originating from Toronto, Ontario. The band consists of Eric Favot (lead vocals and guitar), Jonathan Mele (drums and vocals), Spencer Andrews (guitar) and Matthew Schumacher (bass guitar). Formed by Eric and Jonathan in late 2011, The Curse Within began as the result of the late night jam sessions of two childhood friends with musical aspirations. After recruiting their high school friends Spencer and Matthew, their band was finally complete. The Curse Within combines heavy guitar riffs, powerful drumming, and strong screaming techniques, while maintaining a prominent clean singing sound. The band sites their musical influences as Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Pantera and Children Of Bodom. Rooted in classic metal, The Curse Within finds a unique way to modernize the style of music that started the genre. Currently, The Curse Within has a self-titled EP comprised of a mixture of home and studio demo recordings. Recently, the band won the battle of the bands and made it onto the cities where they were finalists
