The Cuss

The Cuss is what happens two lovers decide to “stop being polite, and start getting real…” Since May of 2011, Wendy and Josh have built a reputation for energetic and intimate performances, playing to enthusiastic crowds at some of the most well-respected venues in their hometown of San Francisco. Taking to stages with the ease and familiarity a marriage endows, the duo finds equal comfort in the loud and fast, the soft and slow, and especially in the middle spaces they continually mine for rock and roll gold.

The Cuss self-released their debut in April 2012, a crisp and simple EP that embraces city living in all its random glory. Chosen by their close friends from a large and expanding catalog of originals, the five deeply personal songs on “We Make EP” dress the wounds of a fun and frantic lifestyle. Stripped down, they explore the tender core of a party-hardened heart. Mid-tempo gems like "Slugs" and "Trust" showcase Wendy's impeccable control over tempo and the tightly-wound dynamics that allow Josh's verses to become much larger than the sum of their parts.

When not rehearsing or performing, the couple can be spotted around San Francisco riding bikes, drinking beers, talking to dogs, and starting dance parties. They are friendly fixtures along Divisadero in the Western Addition where they live.
