‘With an indisputable stage presence and a penchant for audience participation… it’s not uncommon for their gigs to descend into fifty minute sing-alongs’ (Choon Magazine, Southampton). - Choon Magazine

Discography

After several months rehearsing new material in a chilly garage, the band turned two bedrooms, a staircase, a bathroom and a large cupboard into a live studio and, over one snowy weekend this winter, set to work recording their new EP, Golden Opportunities: From the raucous title track, Golden Opportunities; the foot-stamping Never Been Alone; the horn-driven Skin & Bones; the ethereal Avalon; the epic Youth & Beauty; to the delicate and thoughtful Tunnels, the 6 tracks are typically diverse, yet unified by their shifting dynamics, intelligent lyrics, soaring harmonies and interwoven instrumentation. Bio

he Cutaway are six twenty-somethings from Wimbledon, London with a passion for music, and for doing things a little differently. Drawing inspiration from a host of influences the Cutaway have developed a unique sound and a ferocious live set. Turning heads and pricking up ears across London’s unsigned circuit, the band are not averse to trying new things. With an eclectic set and a variety of instruments, they recently played to over 1000 people at The Scala in King’s Cross and have been headlining shows at The Barfly, The Water Rats, The Hard Rock Café and The Half Moon to name just a few.

Other escapes include: playing an impromptu set to a carriage-full of drunken Halloween revellers on the Northern Line, busking next to the painted golden man in Covent Garden; being filmed on CCTV chasing round their old school for a music video; becoming part of an interactive game on Ch4’s website and locking their singer in a cupboard to record vocals for the EP.
