"Black Tie & Two Frocks"

We had decided to leave it at that, until about a month and a half before the wedding when my friends and I were at a fundraising night at a pub in the west end and we came across the Daddy Naggins – an amazing 7 piece bluegrass band who not only play bluegrass and country but also do bluegrass versions of Lady Gaga, Beyonce, and – one of my favourite memories of the night – ‘Boom Shake the Room’! We booked them two weeks before the wedding and we’re so glad we did – they got everyone going for the first two hours of the party and the dance floor was totally packed from the start of their set onwards..." - Love My Dress

Bio

The Daddy Naggins are a Glasgow based bluegrass band with a difference.

Not only do they play electrifying bluegrass and rip roaring traditional tunes and songs, but they also play a range of original and modern classic pop songs, all given The Daddy Naggins special treatment!

After a year of gigs galore, they intend to hit the studio to record an EP of original songs. They aim to maintain a high level of gigs around the Glasgow area and 2013 will see them playing all over the UK and Ireland as well as playing summer festivals.

The Daddy Naggins were formed during the autumn of 2010 by Darren Young Guitarist/Vocalist and Garry McFadden Banjoist/Vocalist with the intention of playing music of the Celtic diaspora that had the energy of punk and the drive of bluegrass. Before long they were joined by Patrick Dunn on Flutes and Mandolin (their Bostonian connection).

Of late, theyve been joined by Jimmy Murray, one of the best Bass players around Glasgow. As well as Violinist John McAleese who plays a range of other instruments, bringing a greater depth of sound to the band.

The band hope 2013 will be the year that brings The Daddy Naggins to a wider audience, so stay tuned.
