""as good as jazz is""

"..and as good as jazz is, it’s even better when it’s done well...if it’s not the locked-in tightness between drummer Rian Carr and bassist Mitch Shelly than it’s Dan DeChellis’s creative playing that will eventually get to you.
Great stuff."- Pulse Weekly

""confident and intuitive""

"DeChellis' improvisations are confident and intuitive; it's easy to follow his playing, even at its most disjointed, because you know he's going somewhere rather than noodling aimlessly…" - Splendidezine, George Zahora

"Herbie Hancock's imprint is obvious"

“Here and elsewhere, Herbie Hancock's imprint is obvious, as is a strong western classicism. This is not to suggest that DeChellis is simply channeling Hancock, but more a matter of building his own unique voice through the iconic pianist's influence.” All About Jazz - All About Jazz
