Bio

The Darien Venture are incredible!!... incredible songs, a brilliant on stage chemistry, fantastically high energy levels and distinct vocals" - Glasgow PodcART

Beginning as a collaboration between university survivors and mutual friends in 2008, 'The Darien Venture' have quickly become one of the most inventive and infectious bands to come out of Scotland in recent years.
Combining the rich harmonies of four vocalists and wide ranging musical influences, this 'math-pop' quartet have recently gone from strength to strength, with airplay from Jim Gellatly, Vic Galloway and Tom Robinson, as well as regular appearances on college/uni radio sessions and podcasts, including the revered Glasgow Podcart.

It's the live environment The Darien Venture live for and playing alongside such diverse acts as Sucioperro, Tubelord, Mimas, Lightguides and Trapped in Kansas, has established the group as a diverse and memorable force.
With their energy, passion and intensity, the Darien Venture invoke sing/chant-a-longs and can quickly have the most varied of audiences under their spell with odd time signatures and off beat stamp.

'Indications', recorded by Gal (Frightened Rabbit, Galchen) and mastered by the legendary Chris Tsangarides (Thin Lizzy, Anvil) showcased their ability to grasp, re-invent and succeed in utilising every influence available to them, displaying an array of thunderous riffs and melancholy haunting. Released in April 2011, the band's second release sold out it's pre-sale in 3 days.

The band are currently putting the finishing touches on a new 7 track EP tentatively named 'A Kite, a Key and a Storm' recorded with producer Bruce Rintoul to be released later this year. And are planning on touring as much of the year as they can in 'Van Akroyd' their home away from home transit.
