"Publisher by day and rocker by night, 49-year-old Dave Keiski is throwing caution to the wind as he puts the Lake Minnetonka Navigator publication up for sale after a 15-year run and pursues his dreams of becoming a full-time musician—and, while we’re dreaming, sitting down to write a song with Sir Paul McCartney, over a beer of course. Keiski’s love for music burgeoned when his dad brought home The Beatles’ legendary album, Sergeant Pepper. The music struck an inspirational chord with Keiski that soon became a way of life, or as he puts it, what he was born to do. “I wanted to touch people with my music the way that those albums, that music and those artists touched me,” he says... Bio

David K listened to the vinyl records his preacher daddy brought home to inspire 1960's sermons. The words of Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, The Band and The Beatles worked their way into the pulpit passion of his father's Sunday words. David taught himself to play the piano after hearing the songs of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Music from The Big Pink by The Band, Bob Dylan and other legendary songwriting bands. "I didn't understand what was happening to me, but I wanted to touch people with songs... the way those songs touched me."
Developing ability on guitar and bass helped David improve his songwriting, and singing the varied musical styles of his youth helped drive the passion of his voice. From Joe Cocker to Paul McCartney, David wasn't afraid to try to reach the most passionate high and raspy ends of what his sound could be. But as well, he loved to croon out a country ballad. Rockin', bluesy, soulful, pop, and classic Americana standards ensued... But David K original tunes, they're the ones that grasp his full attention, and as well that of his audience. He has met countless legends submitting songs to them; He presented tunes to and harmonized with Toni Braxton, passed songs onto Edgar Winter, had the attention of James Brown's band and producers for many months, befriended country legend Jeff Cook of Alabama ~ performing with him, and most recently doing studio work singing back up recently for Joey Mollund of Badfinger.
Over the years David has had so many "almosts" in the music business that he is producing a musical rockin' road tour reality show called, "RockStarWannabe.TV," which is also the website of the show. David K, tired of feeling so close but no cigar, tours the country performing, chasing his music dream, and as well seeking out other music dreamers that "shoulda made it." The show has David K advocates presenting the concept on both coasts to the highest levels of national network television, including MTV, and the people at VH1's "Rock & Roll Fantasy Camp." While David K prefers to own and control the show concept himself, he produces and airs the show online and to millions of people in the Twin Cities and the Midwest while awaiting being acquired by interested national networks.
