The Dawns are a Rock & Roll band from Wasaga Beach Ontario. We formed 3 years ago and have since been playing gigs all across Ontario as well as rockin' the local airwaves. It's our goal to wake up the sleeping dream that was and is, Rock and Roll.
We're a band of self-taught musicians just lookin for a chance to play. We've very recently relocated in Toronto and are planning on Rockin' the city to pieces with the dawning of a new era for Rock & Roll. We're not much of a cover band, we're focusing more on our original works. We have a total of roughly 24 original songs with many in the works. We have won a few "Battle of the Bands" in our time, and have had some airplay as well.
Money has been tough, but it's never gotten in the way of The Dawns' music. Rock and Roll is a lifestyle we fell into more or less; guitars, music, writing, travelling, jamming, and goofin' around are aspects of our lives that are just as real and just as much neccessity as any other profession. Our music is the most important part of our lives. It brought us together, and it kept us together. We are 4 hard-working young and talented lads dreamin' big.
As previously mentioned, we dwell in Wasaga Beach, the longest fresh-water beach in the world. It's warm here most of the time (Kudos to Global Warming) and there's always people looking to jam. We've already made a big change here and bands are starting to become more socially aware, diggin' more to the roots of Rock and Roll. If this keeps up the whole world will be a-Rockin and a-Rollin while The Dawns rise up high into the sky, overlooking the once broken kingdom.
We're always looking for more shows, and fellow Rock & Rollers to play with. So catch us while you can, we may not be in Toronto for long...
