Biography

"The Day After"(TDA) started in summer of 2008. Originally a three piece band consisting of Kevin Kirk on guitar and vocals, Chris Aveline playing bass and singing back up, and Dana Simpson on the drums. TDA played their first show thanks to PiRadical Productions in December of 2008 opening up for big names Punchline and The Frantic. Since then The Day After!!! has been slowly evolving their sound as a fusion of Post-Hardcore along with traditional Punk roots and throwing metal from their influences including Rise Against, A Day To Remember, and Silverstein.
After a full year TDA worked record a short four song EP in the summer of 2009 with Matt Mcwilliams of Mcwhoas studio, and their producer Josh Lamore. After the release of their EP "Why Are You Still Here?" they took on a fourth member to play rhythm/lead guitar, Jacob Rangel. After another year TDA's drummer Dana Simpson had to move to California and Dan Herring stepped in to fill his shoes. From there TDA has gained a larger local following within the Indianapolis area and opening for larger acts such as; I See Stars, We Came As Romans, The Bigger Lights, Hawthorne Heights, and Breathe Carolina.
