The best kept secret in music

Spew The Superlatives Time, get ready! The Day Traders come from the ashes of The Dent, a very fine power pop band that is on this site. But this project, heights tower above the fine accomplishments of their previous band. We`re talking kaledoscopic and bottomless melodic elevation with army regiments of ringing, jangling guitar with smooth, magical and positively shimmering vocals. Imagine if The Bee Gees and Bread made a record with Matthew Sweet and Cherry Twister(who they may sound most like, actually). *That* is what much of this record sounds like. But fans of Velvet Crush, Tommy Keene and Not Lame indie pop faves like Seth Swirsky, Cloud Eleven and Chewy Marble will love, love this! Sure, if radio did not suck and ignored great indie music, this would be moving some units but corporate media loss is our gain. Trying to decide if there is a duff track on here.....it appears not. The jaw-dropping crescendoes and fresh-faced charm are infecting. The hooks are gooey, almost sticky-sweet and the creamy vocal drifts remind us most of Cherry Twister singer Steve Ward or David Gates(Bread). It`s sweet but filled with pop substance and most definitely gets an `ole Extremely Highly Recommended! - NotLame.com
"Pure unadulterated pop. I love this stuff, it's no nonsense, no
apologies, hook-laden song craftsmanship just waiting to ooze out of your transistor radio. These guys were great in the Dent days, and they have clearly now gotten even stronger." - AandRonline.com
If your a fan of melodic pop deepened with sincerety, The Day Traders are for you. In the style of 'Fountains of Wayne' meets 'Simon and Garfunkel', this songwriting duo has reached in deep to the depths of the human condition and created a wonderful composititon - CD Baby
Short but sweet. TheDayTraders.com is a brief journey into the music of Mitchell Linker and Jeff Norberg. Oddly retro, yet relevant, the music available through the site is incredibly melodic, refreshingly clear and deeply sincere. - ArtistDirect.com
"This is about as strong a debut disc as an indie pop band can hope to release. Give this disc a spin, and you will be replaying it with frequency." - popmatters.com/fufkin.com
"The Day Traders are a breed of band that many would say is a dying variety, and for you people they offer hope that all is not lost in the landscape of today’s music industry."
4 out of 5 stars" - bullz-eye.com
"The Day Traders' first release is street-smart pop/rock with potential winning hits!" - Kweevak.com

Bio
Mitch Linker and Jeff Norberg, A.K.A. The Day Traders, are a pop/rock song writing team from Fairfield, CT. For years, the two worked together as the main songwriters for Connecticut's beloved independent art-pop band The Dent. The fruits of their “Dent” collaborations produced a slew of songwriting awards, a handful of independent film placements, and inclusion on several indie music compilations.
After The Dent disbanded in late 2003, Linker and Norberg began collaborating with New York veteran producer/singer/songwriter Saul Zonana, resulting in their debut release as The Day Traders.
Likened to Guster, the Fountains of Wayne, the Bee Gees, Bread and the Connells to name a few, The Day Traders' record is a stunning collection of timeless, passionate, fun, radio-ready pop/rock - made to be played loudly.
