"Hard Rockers"

In 2000 the Times Union hailed Dylan Wilcox as "a guitar phenom." Back then Wilcox was 12.
Dylan started playing at 6. Well now he's 19 years old, and he's celebrating the release of Graystar's debut album, "Between Dreams and Waking" on the Urban Disaster record label, with a cd release party at Northern Lights in Clifton Park.
The band started out as a high-energy, up tempo pop punk band, but their sound has toughened up and matured over the years, as the band members (drummer Steven Jamal Simpson, guitarist Kyle Carpenter rounds out the band.
Wilcox has outgrown that "12 yr old wonderkid" tag, but make no mistake about it, his music stands on its own merits without gimmicks. Not only does Wilcox play the role of the guitar hero in Graystar, but he's the bands lead vocalist. And he wrote all eight of the songs on "Between Dreams and Waking." Oh yeah, he produced the album, too.
And the album flat out rocks, too. The band is working on videos for two of the songs "Janies Broken Heart" and "Rockets Red Glare"-and they're already back at DMS studios in Clarksville, hard at work on a 14-song follow-up album.
Head down to Northern Lights tonight and be prepared to rock hard with Graystar. Opening the show are he Loyalty, A Farewell Rescue, Prima and Lasst Minute Letter. - Albany Times Union

Bio

New York rock band The Day Was Mine has been creating powerful, electrifying scene music since 1999. Produced and written by front man Dylan Storm Wilcox, the band has developed a distinct musical style. A few artists who have influenced The Day Was Mine's music include Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Story of The Year and Bob Marley.

Composer and lead guitarist, Dylan Storm, 19, captivates audiences with his magnetic energy. Musically multi-talented, Dylan connects with drummer extraordinaire Matt McEvoy. Matt, 18, is easily mistaken for a young Travis Barker. He has natural rythm that isn't duplicated by many. On second guitar and vocals Chris Mccabe holds it down.

The Day Was Mine, co-owners of Urban Disaster Records, has just released their new album "Between Dreams and Waking" under their former name Graystar. The Day Was Mine is currently working on their next record and are booking their summer shows.

Graystar has also played dates on the Van's Warped Tour and MTV's Parkfest. The band has opened for The Used, A New Found Glory, Taking Back Sunday , and My Chemical Romance. Also, they have been animated on a famous cartoon and featured in it's video game.
