Bio

Canadian Indie Rockers "The Dead Bees" are alive and well.

Their 2014 full-length album release titled "Dead Bees 2" produced by Steve Bigas of Porcelain Records (Taj Mahal, Bass is Base) has a potent and tasteful collection of songs that could be referred to as neo-power-folk, yet the electrifying energy, universal lyrical themes and pop sensibilities make this record a masterpiece that should pollinate on national commercial radio. A fabulous follow-up to their acclaimed self-titled debut album.

"The Dead Bees" define the true meaning of a power trio. Their unique, eclectic, live energy sound blends power pop, folk and indie rock rhythms with melodic bass lines and memorable guitar hooks. All to bolster three singers with tight harmonies.

"The Dead Bee's" are journeyman song smiths who have shared the stage with; Trooper, The Irish Descendents, Violent Femmes, Big Sugar, The Watchmen, April Wine, Holly McNarland, Matthew Good, Sum 41, 54-40, The Gandharvas Sandbox, The Philosopher Kings, The Grapes of Wrath, The Beaches and Bif Naked.

The members have performed across Canada from Vancouver to Halifax on tours that included multiple University performances, NXNE, CMW and the ECMA's and at marquee club venues such as, The  Opera House, The Rivoli, Sneaky Dee's, The Horseshoe, Lee's Palace and the Phoenix Concert Theatre.

They were selected 2nd overall in the Blue Rodeo National Songwriting Contest. and have successfully licensed their music to McDonald's, Sesame Street and WTN's In Fashion television show.

Kosta McKay, Chris Thibedeau and Chris Sims deliver an explosive live show and tour relentlessly in Upper Canada. Their upcoming Canadian tour will showcase songs from both albums and will support a national radio campaign.

"The Dead Bee's" will be swarming a venue near you and performing at select music industry conferences. "We came together in an organic fashion that only the Universe can explain and do what we do for our fans, who give us the inspiration we need to shine."
"The Dead Bee's" are currently writing their third album to be released in
2015.
