Arising out of Oakville, the unsuspecting suburb of Toronto, Canada is The Dead Heart Politic. Building on the success of their previous independent release under the band name Kindred, the members of TDHP were left with no choice but to revisit their name to better reflect the metamorphosis and excitement surrounding their new EP entitled The Animal In Your Bones. The 8-song EP – which includes the tracks “Hold On (Not Today)” and “When Winter Comes Again” – embodies material that has ignited a new-found, passionate flame beneath the members of the band as well as those surrounding them.

“This band has really amazed me with their potential” states the band’s producer Greg Van Bastelaar. He adds further that “we were all filled with an immense level of excitement surrounding the making of this record and there’s no doubt in my mind that what we felt in the studio will be passed onto the listener.”

The Animal In Your Bones proves to be quite an accomplishment of growth in songwriting and overall sound of the band. After having worked alongside producer Greg Van Bastelaar -- or GvB as he is known -- the band has managed to craft and mold their incredibly melodic and progressive style into a sonic experience that will undoubtedly demand your attention.

The Dead Heart Politic is comprised of 4 members that each brings forth inseparable elements to the band’s style. Matt Bacon, the band’s lead singer and rhythm guitar player, adds a distinct talent to the mix. With profound and thought-provoking lyrics as well as a gentle voice that can unexpectedly rise up and send chills down your spine, Matt provides vocals that ties TDHP’s sound together. On top of which the vocals lie are the brilliant phrasings and unparalleled guitar playing of Jeff Donovan. TDHP will be more than happy to shake the hand of the individual that can transcribe the entire ear-raising effort that exists on this body of work. Backing up this ambitious guitar work is the “FAT” drum-tones of Jon Bacon. Truly a student of the art of drumming and music in general, Jon adds a style of drumming that not only drives the band’s songs but is truly akin to none other. Last but certainly not least is the bass guitar -- which Mike Donovan uses to round out the band’s sound. Upon listening to The Animal In Your Bones you will hear intricately delivered and thought-out bass lines that not only serve as the band’s foundation but also prove to an added treat for the listener.

The Dead Heart Politic has put their hearts and souls into The Animal In Your Bones. The new result is 8 fiercely crafted and diverse songs that will assuredly convey that passion and intensity to whomever is lucky enough to listen.
