"Review for The Deadset's song Honestly"

Hey guys so I know I usually post on Mondays but I thought I would do something a little different. The other day JT Crim from The Deadset asked me to do a quick review for their upcoming single release called "Honestly" and well of course I said yes. If I had to sum up this song in one word it would have to be "Paramore". This track has an amazing pop/rock sound shying away a bit from their usual pop/punk sound but still keeping with The Deadset sound that fans know and love. The song becomes even more complete with an awesome guitar solo done by JT herself. I mean come on who doesn't love a good ol' geeetahhhh solo. So on August 30th. be sure to pick up this track. It will be available on ITunes, Bandcamp and other places as well. So be sure to follow The Deadset on Social Media if you want to find a place to pick this track up. Because I guarantee you, you will want this track in your library.

"Review: The Deadset "Honestly""

Fans of The Deadset will not be disappointed by the new upcoming single "Honestly." It oozes the same classic pop punk vibes that are becoming synonymous with the band, high energy and fun to listen to. Produced by local Vancouver talent, Nigel John Crowe, the upbeat melody and instrumentals are a perfect contrast to the frustrated and sincere lyrics - according to badass frontwoman, JT Crim - in reference to an "emotional terrorist."

The band has a very intriguing plan for the release of their new material, a series of three shorter EPs, with the first single dropping on BandCamp and iTunes August 30th. If the rest of the new content is as addictive as "Honestly," those hungry for the old-school licks of pop punk glory will have plenty to feast on.

If you're in Vancouver, check out their acoustic show in celebration of the single release at Heartwood Community Cafe on August 30th. For more updates on the band, make sure to follow The Deadset on Twitter, and Like their Facebook page. - Karen Mckenzie

Bio

The Deadset are a pop punk force to be reckoned with. Hailing from the rainy streets of Vancouver, B.C. the group officially formed in the fall of 2011. On the local scene they are notoriously hard workers yet even harder punk rockers. The female-fronted pop punk group manages to capture the hearts of their audience at every show. Singer/Guitarist JT adds an undeniably unique sound with the raw emotion and passion that comes with every word she sings. With the combination of JT’s heartfelt songwriting and the hard-hitting intricate beats and raspy melodic background vocals of their Drummer Steve. They have created their brand, "Pop Punk Royalty". The Deadset’s crowd continues to grow and support them matching their hard work with all the love they receive at their shows. Although the pair is branded as punk, they’re known to be two of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. Come out to a show and see for yourself.
