Bio

Hailing from the foggy city of San Francisco, Dead Skies are comprised of Brandon Wurtz (Furs, The American Standard), Ben Phillips (Divisionists, Not Enough Gold) Jacob Whitener (Send for Help, The 45's) and Kyle Bobyle (Divisionists). Spanning from various areas of the San Francisco music scene and drawing from classic influences such as The Faces, Public Nuisence and 13th Floor Elevators along with contemporary artists such as The Black Angels, The Dead Weather and VietNam, The Dead Skies’ diverse sound and performance ranges from dark psychedelic grooves, loud Detroit inspired garage guitars and shimmering 60's and 70's Rock and Roll creating a more unique and energetic psych sound.

Within just months of forming by a perfect storm of events, Dead Skies have gained strong momentum within the San Francisco scene with their explosive live shows. After their live debut at Grant & Green in San Francisco, news and buzz about the Dead Skies’ live performance landed them gigs at Ralph Lauren’s Rugby Store for the “Ralph Lauren Fashion Party” and the legendary Uptown Nightclub sponsored by local radio station, Pirate Cat Radio. Not only have The Dead Skies been gaining more and more shows in their native city, but lately they have been accumulating shows in Santa Cruz and Los Angeles. They are currently recording their first EP and organizing their first tour of the West Coast which will begin in 2010.
