The Dear Hearts

The Dear Hearts

BandRockAmericana

Haunted garage rock diggin' up Bo Diddley & Patsy Cline for a shindig.

The band plays Italy often, but an NYC gig would be a treat.

Vox/guitarist/drummer Miss Lucky H. hitchhiked from Appalachia to Bklyn for a look at the lights.

Guitarist Nicotina washed ashore from Italy and never went back.

Biography

Coming from the same Columbus, OH garage-rock scene that spawned the legendary likes of the Cheater Slicks and Gibson Bros., Miss Lucky Haskins (ex-Magic City) makes a big retro-rock racket for a little lady with a guitar.

Direct from the Italian underground, renowned experimental guitarist Nicotina (Barnacled, the Legs, Jealousy Party, et al) holds it all together with the finesse of a pro and the brazenness of a punk.

A finalist in Little Steven's Underground Garage talent search, Miss Haskins's Magic City trio was making waves with a garage-rock/girl-group single recorded by Jim Diamond (White Stripes, Compulsive Gamblers, Dirtbombs) when she uprooted and moved to NYC, taking her hollowbody guitar rumble and meaty pop hooks with her. Think Ramones, Cramps, Shangri-Las, Wanda Jackson, Holly Golightly, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, Reigning Sound and the Oblivians and you're on the right twisted track.

Nicotina left his legendary improv outfits Jealousy Party and the Legs behind in Florence, IT when he relocated to the States. He calls his indescribable guitar style "casual," but we call it amazing. Traces of rockabilly, surf, country and rock roar through his amp, sometimes all at the same time.

The D.Hearts lineup sometimes includes a full horn section, sometimes little more than a couple of guitars and a tambourine, but the sound is always unmistakable.

Dancing shoes: required.
Knee-high leather boots: preferred.

Teenage Electricity

Written By: K.Graves

Teenage electricity
buzzing all around through every heart beat and
oh the world is always ending
when you're lovesick and seventeen
but oh, it's getting harder to find
a little bit of spark in this heart of mine
oh, it's getting hard to find

oh, between you and me
and i think we need some electricity

dear hearts
we let the fire burn out
we grew up too cynical
now there's nothing left to be but
we're so sorry and
oh it's getting hard to find
a little bit of spark in this heart of mine
oh, it's getting hard to find

oh between you and me
i think we need some electricity

oh between you and me
i think we've got some electricity now

Go Go

Written By: K Graves

Well, I'm not gonna beg you to stay
some things aren't meant to be, it's meant to be that way
if i'm not the girl you need
well then I think you better leave
because i don't have time to wait for you to change your mind
and even if you do, well i think i've made up mine

you better go
if you don't want me anymore
you better go
if she's the one you're waiting for
because i don't have time to wait for you to change your mind
and even if you do, well i think i've made up mine

(Track6) All I Know is What I've Learned from the Radio

Written By: K. Graves

I sit up at night all alone
put another record on
funny, all my favorite songs
make me feel so blue

even if you ask me
i'll lie and say i'm happy
you're better off without me
someday i'll be happy, too

all i know
all i know
all i know is what i learned, from the radio

(track 4) When You Come Back to Me

Written By: K. Graves

Well, I wonder when you're gonna catch on
realize that you got it all wrong
when you told me that i oughta go
you said you'd rather be here all alone

honey, we'll see when you come back to me
we'll see when you come back to me

baby tomorrow
when you come call me
i might be waiting
or i might not be

honey, we'll see when you come back to me
we'll see when you come back to me
