""...the best ass kicking blues rock Cd's I've heard since Zeppelin.""

This is one of the best ass kicking blues rock Cd's I've heard since Zeppelin. I'm struck by the versatility in her voice, Deborah can tear it up like Janis Joplin & Ann Wilson (Heart), turn around & give you chills with some Gospel or just a soft Ballad. Just a Great CD from beginning to end !"

Deborah Magone – Alternate Realities
www.DeborahMagone.Com
Time: 48:45
If you have a soft spot for pretty women wielding a Les Paul guitar cranking
out high-voltage riffs that give you an instant rush, than you can add
Deborah Magone’s Alternate Realities to your playlist.
Magone wastes no time in announcing her entrance to the blues rock world.
Opening track “Clean Up Woman” reminds you of Chicago’s own Joanna
Connor with its greasy slide attack that can cut through a laser beam.
The thunder continues to roar in “It’s All About Money” only to get a softer
edge in the following song “One Love.” Soft edges or not, a wall of sound
effect is something Magone prefers in this material to grab a listener interest.
One reviewer describes her as “Janis Joplin with a guitar” which may or may
not be true if you think Magone’s vocal abilities compare to the late singer. No
doubt she can shout out the lyrics with the effect of a person going under for
the last time.
Alternate Realties can’t be considered as just a blues CD only.
Magone is primarily a rocker and like the generations of rockers that came
before her she acknowledges the blues but uses it as a backdrop for the style
of hard rock that she creates. When she launches into acoustic material
“One Love” and “Forever,” it’s a short detour from the Marshall amp
over-driven comfort zone she lives in. It’s something to be thankful for.
But you would not necessarily like to see Deborah drop the electrical
baggage to pursue being a solo acoustic act.
Magone’s songwriting is solid. Though the songs won’t win any awards for
lyrical complexities, it’s the way Deborah sings the words that hits a bulls-eye
in the soul. Listening to “It’s Alright” gives a feeling you’ve heard this
number before as it seems to come from the past somewhere.
The vocal delivery really hits the mark with Magone’s own “Queen Bee.”
In this case her guitar playing is riding shotgun. She gets help from guitarist
Joey Tuchrello in the rockin two-step “No More.” The ship steers into
gospel-styled waters with “All I Need” which would be the perfect song
to play at a funeral to wish the deceased into a better life.
The dark clouds disappear and soon Magone is unleashing her pulverizing
assault once again. Tuchrello’s guitar solos and riffs abound in the straight
forward rocker “It’s A Sin” with Magone more or less shouting/talking
through the lyrics.
Her “One World” with its no nonsense shuffle gallop
can easily draw the praises from Bonnie Raitt who would give anything to
play and shout like the she-devil Deborah is.
What helps matters especially is that Magone keeps the energy levels high.
Sure there is acoustic numbers thrown in the mix. Since they move at a fair
speed, the temperatures don’t instantly drop.
“Rain Rain” is the perfect precursor to the ending track “Aint No Mistake.”
If you’re looking for that bluest electrical moment, this could very well be it
with Magone pouring her heart into both guitar playing and singing.
It is that good.
By no means is Malone a traditionalist. Folks who wish to tread on quieter
waters will probably run for the hills given the lady’s lust for grabbing the
music by the throat and strangling it like it needs to be woken up.
But you have to give credit to Magone. Compared to other darlings of the
industry, Magone is her own woman and if she’s willing to kick things up a
few notches to get the blues some recognition, than the lady has done her job.

"Concert Reviews"

“Switching from loops to sailing solos w/ just her guitar to keep her afloat, Magone rocked it hard. Between her own self-penned goodies & some select covers , Magone never strayed too far from the blue notes, frying the frets of her guitar - and my soul - with a vicious slide. “ - Frank De Blase City Newspaper/Concert Review, Rochester, NY - CIty Newspaper Rochester, NY

DEBORAH MAGONE has been crowned Rochester , NY’s “ Queen of Blues Rock” by Freetime Entertainment Magazine . A quadruple threat and an original artist on the House of Guitars / Mirror Records Label she’s currently receiving international exposure & airplay, stretching from the United States into Canada, Australia, France, the UK & Asia since her “ New Artist” (Alternate Realities) & “Best Video “, (“It’s All About Money”) consideration at the 54th & 55th GRAMMYS.
Deborah received Producers Choice Award for “Best Female Rock Musician 2012” at the 21st LA Music Awards held at the prestigious Avalon Theatre last fall. Founder & Executive Producer Al Bowman said that "Deborah Magone's sound & musical style represents the most authentic rock n' roll presentation our awards program has heard in the past two decades." She and her band were 1 of 7 bands picked from over 10,000 submissions to perform live at the event in Hollywood, California for luminaries such as Producer Ron Nevison (Led Zeppelin, The Who, Heart, etc.) who was in attendance and said that “Deborah is an electrifying powerhouse that commands the stage” and has since expressed interest in producing Deborah’s next cd .

Deborah’s current cd “Alternate Realities” consists of twelve original songs she describes as “ Rock and Kick Your Ass Blues!” ©dm , a combination of her high-energy guitar playing, powerful vocals & heartfelt lyrics.
Deborah grew up on the blues of Muddy Waters, Janis , & Robert Johnson, singing very early on and learning to accompany herself on the guitar at just 11 yrs old! “ Music kept me out of trouble. At 8yrs old I carried a small radio & listened to R&B & Rock music on Rochester radio every day.
I came from a broken home & music took me out of all that. I was too shy to join the high school chorus and was more of an artistic introverted type. I wanted to play guitar but being a girl , I wasn't allowed. I would steal in to my brothers room when everyone was out, took his guitar & painstakingly taught myself on a guitar that was much too big for my little hands. Because of the strife at home, I got in to trouble from teenage alcoholism to other addictive behaviors, hanging out in bars at 14yrs young.”

She was barely legal at 18 when she was in her first rock band, named "Wired" and was asked to open for Ozzy Osbourne . But the damage was done . “At the age of 23 I developed severe ulcerative colitis which actually killed me. I was revived and while I was fighting for my life in he tiny town hospital of Avezzano, Italy on vacation with family. I told myself that I had no intentions of leaving. I held on tight. I thought of the current album project with Capitol records & Grammy award winning artist Janice Marie Johnson that was waiting for me back in Los Angeles. I thought of my karate students, music students, my family, my Great Aunt & my Mom who sat at my bedside every day for weeks in that hospital in Italy. I refused to give up, failure was not an option.”

Deborah’s original tunes are reminiscent of the blues rock of Humble Pie, & Zeppelin. Reviews & on-air interviews have praised this stunning blues rock dynamo with comparisons to the greats, with comments such as "Janis Joplin with a guitar" and "Bonnie Raitt with balls.”

A onetime student of Rochester, NY jazz guitar legend Richard "Dick" Longale ,and the only female member of his famous "Wailing Wall", Deborah Magone has jammed with some of the best between New York & California such as Peter Frampton , Talas, Dakota, Shooting Star, JJ Bad Boy Jones , The Campbell Brothers Tammy Diddley (daughter of Bo), GRAMMY winner Janice Marie Johnson ( A Taste of Honey), Chris & Joe Beard , Mitch Mitchell (Jimi Hendrix), & Tim Bogert (Vanilla Fudge) among others. She’s played in venues too numerous to
