Bio

Crooning, plucking and pounding out tunes since early 2009. With their eclectic rhythms, a symphonic trio of guitars, a voice to match, unique drumbeats and silvery keys, this is THE band to watch. Their style is radically diverse, ranging from a tempestuous harmony of strings in “Subtle Illusions” to the irresistibly catchy beat-lyric combos found in “Fire Through the Window” and “SuperSonic”. The colourful quintet consist of three previous members of alternative rock group Local Authority – Tristan Coetzee (vocals and guitar), Gideon Meyer (bass guitar) and Michael Schoeman (lead guitar), who boast a seven-year musical camraderie. Up-to-snuff drummer Daniel Raubenheimer (from powerhouse-rock ensemble Pity the Fool) sets the tread, adding a solid-rock punch that contrasts and complements the band’s pop-rock pitch. Their newest member, Erich Britz, consummates this aural masterstroke with liquid fingers and sublime licks on the keyboard. Together, these boys are the dream-team; wildly ambitious and talented by a long chalk. As a novel band, Crimson King aspires to introduce fresh flavours to the palate of the South African music scene. Untainted authenticity, a contemporary (yet) pioneering sound and terribly addictive tunes are all on the menu. The widely-demanded Album is well on its way, and a music Video can expected soon.
