Johnny and Dee played together in a former band incarnation "Dee Ray" , Johnny's also an ex-member of the Ghost Town Deputies, Scott is back in the saddle again having formerly played with the Attic Fans and the Holy Cows, and David's covering so many bands they're too numerous to mention here... They've been holed up working on material for their first album since their well received debut shows last year at the Ould Sod and live Internet concert on 2-Ply Radio and now are looking to share what they've been up to. HQ'd in North Park, SD, CA, The Dee Rays can travel in the So Cal. area with notice.

Lyrics

In your head

Written By: Dee Ray

The tape is turning, spinning in my head
Strangely familiar, things that I've said
It's old and dusty, fills me with dread
Creeping up slowly, what's up ahead

It's all in your head, in your head

I 'm in a tailspin, covered in sweat
I'm sure I've been here, before and yet
I'm in a bad way, I must confess
This coming and going, my mind is a mess

It's all in your head, in your head, it's in your head

But it was, only me, getting in the way
Once again, only me standing in the way
You brought me here, so mysteriously
Once again, it's only me getting in the way

The door has opened, opened for you
Take the chance and, walk right on through
And if it's too good, too good to be true
Your never trying, will never do

It's all in your head, in your head

Over

Written By: Dee Ray

Made it here, in the dark
Found my way, lit a spark
You were there, next to me
Showed me how, let me see

I've been here, once before
Find myself, at your door
But this time, I am free
Showed me how, let me see

Come on girl, get off your feet
Cause one day, it will be over
Find the rhythm, feel the beat
Cause one day, it will be over
Check your heart, let it speak
Cause one day, it will be over
Don't be afraid, don't be weak
Cause one day it will be over, it will be over

Shangri-la, you led me to it
Shangri-la , think I've found it
Shangri-la, you'll never lose it
Shangri-la, you'll never lose it, once you've found it

On this day, on this night
Find your own, special light
And let it shine, let it breath
And for once, just believe

New York

Written By: Dee Ray

It felt like home, I never felt alone
The wind blew my feet, down electric streets
How can it be, that it seems to know me
Saw as a child, my spirit running wild

In the hush, of Central Park
In the rush, after dark
Found myself, still in a dream
Drifting down, a silver stream

To New York, to New York City, City
To New York, to New York City, City

Familiar streets, feeling so compete
Lost in the night, liquid and bright
Yellow and red, tail lights just ahead
Soon I'll be back, racing down the track

In the hush of Central Park
In the rush, after dark
Found myself, still in a dream
Drifting down, a silver stream

To New York, to New York City, City
To New York, to New York City, City

Maybe I will

Written By: Dee Ray

Just like a stranger, feeling immune
Chasing danger, feeling immune
Walled up inside, easy to hide
Walled up inside, easy to hide

Up on a fence, living this way
It made no sense, living this way
Your open smile, there all the while
Your open smile, there all the while

Someday maybe I'll, figure it out
One day, someday I'll figure it out
Figure it out, figure it out
Figure it out, figure it out

It's hard to believe, and stay the same
It's easy to grieve, and stay the same
A cycle turns, easy to burn
A cycle turns, easy it burn

But turn it will, the endless tide
Unless you still, the endless tide
And gather there, your hearts aware
And gather there, your hearts aware

Someday maybe I'll, figure it out
One day someday I'll, figure it out
Figure it out, figure it out
Figure it out, figure it out
