Sydney four-piece The Deer Republic delivers glamorous kaleidoscopic sounds of the big city packaged tightly into their indie rock attaché.
Prior to any official release The Deer Republic were among the likes of The Flaming Lips, Bloc Party and MGMT to play the main stage at Splendour in the Grass in 2009. The lads launched a limited release of their debut single, ‘Need to Know’ to a packed house. The track was consequently added to FBi’s playlist amongst other major community radio stations around Australia.
2010 began with a bang playing a small East Coast tour ending with The Weekender at Ding Dong Lounge in Melbourne.
In August 2010, Scott Horscroft (The Presets, Little Red, Birds of Tokyo) produced an EP at The Grove Studios and the tracks were sent to The Exchange in London for mastering with Nilesh (Bjork, New Young Pony Club, Nick Cave).
The Deer Republic will launch their debut EP in the 2nd Q of 2011 ...
