The Defiled

The Defiled

 London, England, GBR

Hard hitting songs with powerful, catchy choruses, eye-catching imagery that demands attention and a confident live performance that sees them commanding small clubs to major festivals with equal conviction, it's no wonder THE DEFILED are the hottest unsigned metal band in the UK right now.

Possibly the hottest new band on the British scene, THE DEFILED are now ready to show the rest of the world why metalheads up and down the UK are flocking to their shows and have nominated them in the Metal Hammer Golden Gods “Best New Band” category. One of the most promising young bands in the UK, THE DEFILED have an impressive touring history for an act on their debut album. Appearances alongside The 69 Eyes, Static-X, Lacuna Coil, Deathstars and Sonic Syndicate in support of 2009’s “1888” EP, as well as slots at both 2009 and 2010 SONISPHERE UK festivals has earned them an impressive and highly dedicated fanbase.

After making the bold move of giving away 80,000 copies of their debut full length via Metal Hammer magazine (UK) at the beginning of 2011, and following up with a tour of the UK which put them in front of 15,000 metalheads supporting MURDERDOLLS in February, the buzz on THE DEFILED rby March was unprecedented. The band capitalised with a headline tour of the UK in May which saw them selling out London's Barfly venue, and in turn led to a headline slot at the Jagermeister stage at SONISPHERE festival Knebworth (bringing in that stage's biggest crowd of the weekend by some 500%), as well as the prestigious maiun stage opening slot at BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR in August. A quick listen to tracks such as “Call To Arms” or “The Resurrectionists” leaves you in no doubt as to why this band are doing so well. Simultaneously crushing and melodic, brutal and beautiful, it’s no surprise THE DEFILED are fast becoming the UK’s new favourite metal act - heavy, pounding grooves coupled with remarkably imaginative electronic elements, and choruses so instantly infectious that you’ll be singing along by the end of the first listen.
