Bio

The Delano Orchestra was created in June 2005 for a concert at La Cooperative de Mai (Clermont Ferrand), as the opening act for Ken Strinfellow.
The group relies on the intimate and dark folk writing of a * Delano and orchestrates around it music, often described as post-folk, both rich and deep, inspired by Eels, Bright Eyes, Sparklehorse, Sigur Ros, Elliott Smith or Sufjan Stevens. The group is composed of six musicians (drums, bass, keyboard, guitar, trumpet, cello, guitar, vocals) and opens itself to various enchanting contributions throughout their concerts (piano, glockenspiel, banjo, Buzuki, cello ...)
In early 2006, The Delano Orchestra recorded their first album in a disused butcher's shop, on a long and cold winter’s day. The album "A little girl, a little boy & all the snails they have drawn" is quickly noticed by the Cooperative de Mai and Les Inrockuptibles.
These encouragements and advocates offer new perspectives for the group whose album is release in February 2008 by Alienor Records, record label based Bordeaux
The group then experienced a rapid ascent, being a noticeable Discovery of the Printemps de Bourges 2008, they performed at the Bataclan (Paris) October 21, 2008.
The release of the album "A little girl, a little boy & all the snails they have drawn" was praised by the entire press (Les Inrockuptibles, Magic, Telerama, Liberation, Le Monde, Geo, etc ...).
The Delano Orchestra then takes advantage of a snowy winter to create a second album, powerful and luminous."Will anyone else leave me? " is like a collection of folk songs, mounted with electric surges and rich and surprising orchestrations. The comparison often made with Sparklehorse, Sigur Ros, Sufjan Stevens or Arcade Fire vanishes and instead leaves room for The Delano Orchestra’s own identity.
The second album "Will anyone else leave me? "Was released April 7, 2009 by the sewn-albums label, Kutu Folk Records.
