Formed in 2005 as a three-piece acoustic-blues troupe, The Delta Swagger began playing in bars around Columbia, SC. It didn't take long for them to electrify both their sound as well as audiences in Charlotte, Charleston, SC, Augusta, GA and other southeast cities.
After expanding to a four-piece and recording their first CD, they played the circuit of SC Blues festivals in Charleston, Greenwood, Columbia and Camden. Everywhere they went, crowds reacted with enthusiam and quickly bought up every copy of the first CD.
In 2009, the Swagger expanded again, bringing in lead vocalist Shelley Magee. A veteran of the national blues scene for more than a decade and a half, Magee added the final layer to the band's sound.
With a new CD set for release in March 2011, the band is gearing up for more shows to bigger audiences and a bright year of big-time blues.
