The Departed is a San Francisco based punk band consisting of Michelle Lockneck and Karina Figeroa who ,despite never playing music before, decided they wanted to start an all girl band. They started taking guitar and bass lessons and hired a vocal coach(Karina Denike, Dance Hall Crashers). It was clear from the beginning they were not kidding around! After a year of song writing, they took on Nikki Stix (former drummer of The Husbands) and Lani Dagger on lead guitar. With all of them bringing in different musical influences, what results are songs that appeal to a wide audience of music lovers.
Since then, The Departed have played with such well known bands as The Adolescents, Dead To Me, NOFX and Strike Anywhere. They also played a few dates on the '06 Van's Warped Tour.
This coming year they plan to record and release a full length split with the Dollyrots on Funeral Records.
The fun has just begun!!
