"Syracuse Post Standard Newspaper Review"

The Details didn't record "Work on Love" in a garage.

But they could have.

The dozen original songs on the debut CD from the three-piece rock band from Cato has a crunchy, low-fi sound that hearkens to the days when the label garage band was a badge of courage.

Brian Modafferi on guitar and vocals, Nate Modafferi on drums and Drew Gunnip on bass fashioned at Phantasma Records in Rochester a rock record with some groovy old-school touches.

"Find Me in the Right Mind" features a guitar riff begging for some big waves.

"Scuba Gear" employs a rich guitar start with a slow, simple, alluring hook. You could dance on the beach to this one, pulling your honey in close on the sand.

"Crackit" dips into the jam band vibe, with a crisp, rocking beat, big and building guitars and pure vocals.

The lyrics are sly, too, with "Just Because You're a Cop Doesn't Mean We Can't Be Friends" going beneath the surface in its judgements, and "Taint" cresting to a feel-good crescendo as Brian Modafferi sings, "I hope you're ready now. The world's waiting for you." - Mark Bialczak
