The Diamond Platinum Rings

The Diamond Platinum Rings are Seth Goodman and Kevin Mahoney. Though both were born and raised in the working class granite quarrying and shipbuilding town of Quincy, Massachusetts, the pair met one night in a Boston dive and discovered a shared reverence for the close harmony duets of vocal icons like The Everly Brothers, The Blue Sky Boys, The Louvin Brothers and Simon and Garfunkel. Once Kevin heard Seth's first release as The Diamond Platinum Rings ("The Stoned and the Lonely") he wanted in. Seth found in Kevin the perfect foil to push DPR to greater intensity and a wider audience. A band was born. Seth and Kevin blend their sometimes hostile, sometimes melancholy voices in perfect harmony, thick with Quincy accents, rage and a desire to connect. The music: The Clash, Stiff Little Fingers, Husker Du, The Byrds (and other bands they love) influence their songs, though nobody puts it all together quite like DPR.
