The Diggs

The Diggs

"These folks turned some heads at the KEXP in-studio performance. Straightforward indie rock, just like you listened to in the 90’s. Are you noticing this? The 90’s are fucking hot.” --The L Magazine

New York City's The Diggs are a three piece formed in autumn of 2003. They played their first show in May of 2004. The Diggs coalesce guitar driven Mid-nineties indie rock and ethereal English pop with a touch of shoegaze: anthemic pop choruses and emotional vocals with huge crashing crescendo/decrescendo walls of sound.

The Diggs released their debut LP Commute in the U.S. in December 2005 on Sugarspun Records (it was picked up for distribution in January 2006 by Fabtone Records in Japan). The 9 songs on Commute share the recurrent theme of frustration and hope. The record was warmly received in New York where The Diggs have shared bills with The View, Midlake, Annuals, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Pela, Dirty on Purpose, Amusement Parks on Fire, Field Music, I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness, and Jeremy Enigk.

The Diggs are currently recording their sophomore LP ctrl-alt-del at Stratosphere Sound in New York City with Rudyard Lee Cullers producing. It is slated for a late 2007/early 2008 release.

RIYL: Sunny Day Real Estate, Ride, and Sonic Youth.
