Bio

The accident happened on a cold night in January when Dillon was playing at a small club. The songs he chose were not of the “Nashville” sort. “I was playing songs that I’ve been writing that were influenced by Sting, John Mayer, Dave Matthews and James Taylor. I never thought they would catch so much attention. The club owner liked them so much he put a makeshift band together the next time I played them. That’s how it all started.

The rest unfolded like springtime. “I’ve been good friends with Jeffrey Scot Wills, our sax and percussion player, for years. I told him what we were doing as I stole him from Take 6 and a few other bands he was working with at the time. He was in immediately.”

After a referral from John Boehm (Bass), John Toomey (Drums) was on board without even an audition. The same went for Walt Scott (Keyboards) who was recommended by Jeffrey.

A sound that sings of lasting love, hardships, creative freedom and jealousy to name a few, The Dillon Dixon Band will captivate you strictly on musical intellect alone. The rest is up to each listener to either relate to what’s being said musically, lyrically, or, they know someone who needs to hear it because it needs to be a part of their life.

Dillon’s voice is strong, yet gentle on your ears as you listen to the rest of the band who take a hybrid of pop and jazz, even some funk, and present it to you in a tight, masterful form.

“Organic,” “acoustic,” “spacious,” “commercial,” “non-commercial” and “necessary” are some key words that come to mind when listening to The Dillon Dixon Band… A long line of life’s stories put into song with the honesty of Nashville but the power of Paris, New York, L.A. and London.
