The Dimestore Romeos

This is the Dimestore Romeos, two blokes ready to rock’n’roll. Hope you like dirt in your rock. Enjoy pounding drums? They got it. How about some dirty overdriven guitar? Got it. Do you like bluesy vocals by any chance? Oh, yeah, they’ve got it. They’ve got no need for anything else. Tempered by the prairies of Calgary, Alberta they’ve got the garage-rock they want ready to growl and howl at the drop of a hat.
Right now this team of two is working on readying their debut album, the Downstairs Mixup, for release in April 2013. Already the band is working on new material to showcase their growth as musicians with an EP release the summer of 2013. The Dimestore Romeos are currently working on establishing themselves as a recognizable name in the city through their own brand of energetic live shows that are meant to get people moving leading up to playing the first annual Birth of the Slums music festival in July 2013.
This dynamic duo, Jackman Jangs and Gary Dobko, arose from ashes of former projects and current friendships like a burnt out, heavily caffeinated phoenix. Out of a mutual desire to write and perform a kind of harmony emerged. The music turned out to be too much fun with just the two of them, allowing them to put more energy into everything they did.
Gary and Jack have shared the stage with diverse, talented lineups including local talent Mudd and Flowshine, as well as Edmontonians Stone Iris. These Romeos aren’t going to rest until they’ve rocked every venue in Calgary, and beyond.
