"“Ready for Radio... Incredible song!!”"

Hello guys...

first of all I want to congratulate you for this incredible song... I really like it.

It has all the right elements to become a great single... somehow I visualized it as part of a soundtrack for a TV series... But it's certainly ready for radio play... you may have to make a special radio edit (so the song lasts 3 minutes, or 3 and a half minutes, at most)... but this can make a great single.

The arrangements and production are really good... so is the Mix and mastering. In terms of songwriting I have nothing to say... it has a catchy chorus and the lyrics are well written. GREAT!!!

"Laws of Attraction - Where I Belong"

Laws Of Attraction - Where I Belong
2008, LOA Music

Laws Of Attraction is Laurene Palmiere and Scott Dionne, a Calgary based duo with a bent for passionate country. Hailing from Campbell River, BC and Halifax, NS, respectively, the duo traveled a long distance just to find one another. Their debut album Where I Belong is a treat.

I have to start by saying I love Laws Of Attraction's sound. Vocalist Laurene Palmiere has an amazing, lush sound, and the songs are well written. This is mellow country all the way. The sound is a bit generic for pop-country, but it's a pleasant listen. Where I Belong opens with The Road I Left Behind, which shows off great organ and guitar work and a strong backing band. I'll Wait opens with a guitar hook that is very similar to the one that opens The Waltons' Middle Of Nowhere. I don't know if this were intentional or not, but it made a neat connection between Laws of Attraction and The Waltons (Jason Plumb).

Letting Me Go is almost soulful, right down to the swanky violins. The absolute highlight of Where I Belong is Talk Away The Night. This is a potential major hit for Laws Of Attraction (as always) with the right breaks. Other highlights include These Days, Where I Belong and Courage.

Laws Of Attraction has a nice easy sound. They hearken back to 1980's country a bit, where melancholy and a more mellow sound predominated. I think Where I Belong may have a difficult time garnering significant attention from radio, as their sound is a little mellow for the ADD tendencies of the day, but songs like Talk Away The Night will always find a niche. As long as Laws Of Attraction can continue to write and perform songs of this quality, they'll have a following for however long they keep making music. - Wildy's World

Bio

“An amazing, lush sound” (Wildy’s World, 2008). Scott and Laurene are the husband and wife acoustic duo from Calgary also known as The Dionnes. Previously called Laws of Attraction, they worked with producer Douglas Romanow and recorded their Rawlco Radio-funded debut release ‘Where I Belong’ in 2008. Fast forward to a live show in 2011 and you’ll hear the results of hundreds of performances, some serious honing of their natural song writing skills, and maybe even a hint of marital sarcasm. Fans of Patty Griffin, Brandi Carlile or Sarah Harmer will find something comforting and familiar in the beautiful melodies and vocal harmonies. Watch for their second release in the summer of 2011 and hear why they were selected as a finalist in the 2011 Calgary Folk Festival Songwriting Contest for their song ‘One Little Kiss’. Working with Calgary producer and musician extraordinaire Kit Johnson, this one promises to be an intimate and personal collection that you won’t want to miss.
