Once in a blue moon a band comes along that can change the landscape of the music industry, forging a new direction of space and time. The Dirty Diamond is this band. Blending a sweet mix of Classic Rock, 90’s Brit-Pop, and Eastern influences, the band takes you on a musical journey that will leave you in a transcendental state of mind. The Dirty Diamond was formed by band leader Sam Babayan in 2006 and instantly became a crowd favorite, performing to packed houses in all the well known venues in Los Angeles including the House of Blues, Viper Room, Hotel Cafe, and Troubadour. This activity stimulated the release of their self-titled debut CD in 2008. Soon after, the band caught the attention of local producer Matt Pszonak and work began their sophomore release.
"Our Divine & Sovereign Mother” was released to a sell-out crowd at the Troubadour in January of 2011. From the Eastern-tinged opener ‘Calendar Expires’ to the lush ballad ‘Death Won’t Hurt’ Sam and company have taken rock and roll to new and exciting heights.
