Bio

Growing up across the lake from Chicago and Milwaukee, Dirty Rascals frontman Bill Huskey and Rythm guitarist Jason VanAuken had plenty of space to dream and aspire. Realizing early that they they had a passion for the soothing sounds of Classic Rock and Soul, the two delved into the world of music. Having been in several local bands, the two decided to do some research in search of new home where their music may garnish more attention. They settled on the sleepy southern town of Murfreesboro, TN.

Murfreesboro, with its close proximity to Nashville, and with the hustle and bustle of nearby Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU is home to one of only a few programs offereing a Bachelors of Science in the Music Business), has proven to be a good jump-off point for the duo. Shortly after arriving in Murfreesboro the two good musicians did what all good musicians do: they met up with other good musicians. Having a common passion for the same types of music, the two grew into five and formed the current line-up of The Dirty Rascals (addition of Ben Moore-Lead Guitar, Ian Campbell-Bass, Dave Singelton-Percussion).

Held together by their common love of Classic Rock, Blues, Funk, and Soul, the current line-up of The Dirty Rascals is on track to becomming one of the hottest groups coming out of the Great South. Their influences range from Zeppelin to the Black Crowes and from Ben Harper to The Beatles. This diversity in musical tastes spills over into the songwriting of the music and into their setlist.

Having been playing locally since 2002, the group is now spreading its ear candy into the Southeastern region.
