The Dive Poets are a rock band from St. Louis, Missouri. For those that prefer a little more categorization in their descriptions, you could classify them as “melodic roots-rock” or “alt-country”. Formed in 2008, the Dive Poets have since maintained a busy performance schedule, building a reputation for tight live shows and earning a 2010 Riverfront Times Music Awards nomination in the “Best Indie Band” category, a 2011 nomination in the "Best Rock - Americana" category, and again in 2012 for "Best Country Band". Triangulate the three, and you will get a pretty good idea of the sound.
In 2010 the band released their debut EP, The Good and the Light, which was named one of the top ten local EPs of the year by The Riverfront Times, and continues to gain airplay on local radio station KDHX (www.kdhx.org) They are currently finishing up a full length album, to be released mid-2012.
