Bio

Together since 1998, The D*MAGGS are an independent garage rock band known and respected for their infectious songs, exciting showmanship, longevity and reputation for being a true contender among the competitive Los Angeles music scene.

Drawing from such musical influences as The Who, The Pixies, X, The Pretenders, The Clash, Rocket From the Crypt, and Sleater-Kinney, The D*MAGGS have truly refined their own brand of creative storytelling and bold delivery, and are ready to embrace new opportunities and audiences.

In 2007, the band suffered a huge blow when lead guitarist and band co-founder, Darrell Ray, succumbed to lung cancer. Soon after Darrell's passing, The D*MAGGS, including Darrell’s son, Joey Ray, took it upon themselves to put on a killer rock show in his honor. Ten weeks later, on July 28, 2007, they did just that. Even in their sorrow, they brought the full-to-capacity house down!

Along with punk icon Mike Watt (Iggy Pop & The Stooges, The Minutemen, Firehose) and guitarist Mike Keneally (Frank Zappa), The D*MAGGS recently performed at a benefit for musician/activist George Tabb at Safari Sam’s in Hollywood, CA. The band is also working to secure local and out-of-state performances, including the Bumbershoot Festival in Seattle and the locals only Warped Tour stage.

The D*MAGGS are completing post-production details of their last studio album called “Rock, Paper, Scizzors,” and are promoting their new single, “Fever.”
