Biography

5 piece blues rock combo The DN5 formed early 2007 in Manchester, UK. Influenced in their writing by The Rolling Stones, Gram Parsons, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Faces and Primal Scream, The DN5 are working to bring a taste of 70s delta hung-up blues home to Manchester.

Steve Mack is rhythm guitarist and engine room behind the music, complimented wonderfully by soaring lead guitar from Daniel Wilson. Greg Royle and Keith Sinden provide the spine for the sound, leaving on vocals Robert Butler. Rob’s voice rolls into every inch of a venue with raw and absolute authenticity.

After forming the 5 on a basis of country, rock n roll and blues, Steve, Dan, Greg, Keith and Rob have now found their own sound, producing rock n roll with greater attitude and bravado. Their original crowd pleasers of Farewell Laura-Lee and Sugar Shack still take the occasional bow, but they now produce a more edgy rock n roll with flair and bite to the sound. Keith is let off the leash, and with his new found freedom, produces solid and driving percussive grounding leaving Greg, Steve and Dan to create soulful swaggering rock and roll.

Lyrics

Saint Of Me

Written By: Steve McDonald

Well if you ever need something, like i always need from you
Just call on me, 'cos im always calling on you
You got an angel heart, and you’ve always been the saint of me
Ive lost count of all the times, you came running to answer my plea

So any time you feel alone
Or if your heart's as heavy as stone
Well you can call…
You can call on me

When theres a smile on your face, all too often theres a tear in your eye
You tell me its all right, but I swear I thought I heard a sigh
Don’t let their sorrow drag you down, 'cos they only ever cause you pain
And if you get an aching need, just tear it down and start all over again

So any time you feel alone
Or if your heart's as heavy as stone
Well you can call…
You can call on me

When youre down on your luck, and just cant seem to get a start
Well the queen of hearts, always seemed to be your card
So if youre running bad, and hope to turn good on the river
I hope the cards wont let you down, 'cos their promises don’t always deliver

So any time you feel alone
Or if your heart's as heavy as stone
Well you can call…
You can call on me
So any time you feel alone
Or if your heart's as heavy as stone
Well you can call…
You can call on me
So any time you feel alone
Or if your heart's as heavy as stone
Well you can call…
You can call on me
