The DoorHolders

Hi! We are the DoorHolders! A newly formed praise and worship band based out of Macon, GA. What is a DoorHolder you might ask? The name comes from a sermon preached by Louie Giglio of Passion City Church in Atlanta based on 1 Chronicles 15 in which King David is returning the Ark of the Covenant to the Holy City of Jerusalem. As the Levites and King David are approaching the city, there are four briefly mentioned men who are labeled as doorholders for the Ark. These men had the seemingly unimportant task of simply holding open the city gates as the Levites returned the Ark to its proper place. But Louie painted a grand picture out of something that seems so insignificant. These "doorholders" had the privilege of playing an instrumental part in letting others see the glory of God, having first seen it themselves. Think about that for a moment. Think about how it applies to us as believers having seen the glory of God ourselves. It would be selfish not to want to share that with others! As a praise and worship band we desire to be doorholders for those who have yet to see His glory by using music to lead people into the throne room.

Ok. So now we know what a doorholder is, you might ask why another praise and worship band? Aren't there enough of those? Well the road to where we are today has been unfolding for quite some time, but really started coming together in January of this year after the four of us attended the Passion conference in Atlanta. These four days were life changing for all of us and It was evident that God had placed a unique call on our lives using the musical ability that He so graciously blessed us with to carry the Name of Jesus to wherever He would choose to lead us. We all decided out of obedience to leave the different avenues and desires of our lives and answer this call with everything we have. We wouldn't be doing this if we didn't feel this is what God has called us to do. A couple months after Passion we attended the 2 day LIFT worship leader conference hosted by Passion City Church in Atlanta where this call was confirmed and we felt God was leading us to hold a night of praise and worship music at least once a month at one of the theaters in Macon. We hope to start this very soon and are already working on set lists and logistics to make it a reality! We believe God has big plans for this ministry as we reach out to the city of Macon, the Middle Georgia area, and wherever else He chooses to lead us.

Where the road goes from here, we do not know exactly. But we are trusting wholly in the Lord for His guidance and provision as we walk out the call He has placed on our lives to the best of our abilities. Lets just say we can't wait to see where He leads us from here!
