Bio

DJ RoNak has immerged as one of the most recognized DJs in Ohio. The musical journey started when he bought his first pair of turntables during his junior high days. He quickly began to learn the trade and is known for his untraditional ways of using a turntable. “I have always thought of the turntable as an instrument and not just a record player. I try to implement that into my sets. RoNak’s musical abilities do not stop at the turntables. He is a self-taught percussionist/producer and dabbles into a number of different instruments (bass, tabla, keys, guitar, didgeridoo). DJ RoNak was apart of a successful independent band for his high school days:
“Coping with Ignorance was a mixture of five musical talents blended together to create a sound that is unique and current to the musical taste of today. Their freshman release “Bliss featured singles “Knew You and “Machines and Dreams that quickly became requested on Midwest radio stations and soon after, live concert favorites. “Bliss brought CWI recognition as one of the best-unsigned bands by a national radio station in Ohio. With their second release, “Awakening, CWI continued to grow in popularity. Playing with major label acts such as Disturbed, Taproot, Chevelle, Unloco, Godsmack, Trapt, Flaw, 40 Below Summer, Breaking Benjamin, Outspoken, Bobaflex and July for Kings.
Throughout college at The Ohio State University he continued to DJ at numerous venues throughout the city of Columbus. After finishing up his degree and moving on to his Master’s degree at the University of Dayton he reconnected with his childhood friend, Terry “Money Harding. RoNak’s production skills are what caught Terry’s ear. “The beats that this kid makes are unreal, they are beyond some of the biggest producers. He can lay down the beat, write the hook, and is thinking about the concept of the video before the session is done…I don’t think he sleeps.-Money.
Terry "Money" Harding:

Every musical artist claims to have their own sound, but Money has a futuristic style that rivals cutting edge hip-hop. Money, born Terry Harding began rapping after losing a rap battle his sophomore year of high school. From that day on he was determined to be the most fluent freestyle artist. Everyday after school he would sit in front of the mirror and battle himself as if he had split personalities. By his senior year of high school, he was known for his long-winded freestyles and unique punch-lines. For years, Money has free-styled on a daily basis, trying to perfect his art. In 2005 he formed the group Entouraje and began performing shows at Ohio University, totaling 57 shows to date. He then released his debut album, "Rough Draft Project". After dodging some legal trouble, he released "Dirty Money Mix Tape Volume 1", which showcased his free-styling ability. Money has been known for his high energy at shows and also for his consistent freestyle ability. After releasing his sophmore album in 2008, "It’s Official Mix Tape", he linked back up with his best friend from Kindergarten (Ronak) to form The Double Up. RoNak knew that Terry had always rapped but didn’t notice his skills until they had a few studio sessions. “He blew my mind the first time he came over. We had a cup of my mom’s chai and I threw down the beat. He basically wrote an entire song through freestyle. Who knew my best friend from Kindergarten would become such a nasty MC? The rest was history. The Double Up was formed. Now with a completely different style and abstract beats from DJ RoNak, they plan to change the industry with a futuristic sound that will soon send them to the next level.

“Our whole mission to start this project is to change the game. We want to push hip-hop in a direction it hasn’t gone. We want to make people dance. We want success. We want a lot and we will take over your Ipod ☺.
