Ethereal, Ghostly, Haunting...The marriage of acoustic storytelling with the the driving beat of electronic dance. (think coldplay meets mason jennings, meets calvin harris)

Biography

This music is like nothing you've ever heard before. Of course that phrase is so haphazardly thrown around today that it means nothing to read it, but I'm comfortable letting my music speak for itself. My influences are acoustic, indie and electronic music. I play guitar, sing, and operate a kick drum simultaneously to create an atmosphere that transmits the purity and emotion of acoustic sound with the drive and movement of a hard, steady beat. My songs are stories and worlds within themselves, chronicling my experiences and travels around the world. I am a concept artist, meaning I am a character of my own creation, and my goal as a performer is to draw the audience into my world, to enjoy an experience that is as visual, mental and emotional as it is musical.

Here is my story:

"For young Aaron growing up was, as it is for most dreamers, difficult. The world he grew up in was not a world suited for a child of his peculiar disposition. Worriedly his parents noticed his acute sensitivity, and unfortunately so did The Greys. During the day Aaron lived in a world of his own creation, but at night his dreams were haunted by The Greys. By the time Aaron was a young adult, the many years spent trying to fit in had produced a carefully constructed shell, an external perception of himself which he internally controlled. Yet the pressure it took to maintain the shell drained our young Aaron, and with no identity or purpose he found himself in a life that was not his, and with a mind at the brink of the abyss. Aaron desperately needed to know that the world he was in was not the only, and he had run out of time-his shell was beginning to crack.

This concept album is the story of Aaron's awakening; from his last minute escape from America, to his journey through the streets of Southeast Asia, and his return 3 years later to the life he had abruptly left behind. Narrowly avoiding the fate of a skinwalker, Aaron finally realized his true identity: he was a dreamer-one of many, a human naturally capable of manifesting their waking dreams(and nightmares). Adopted by a benevolent Ally, Aaron recieved enlightenment, a heightened state of awareness, and a clear inner voice to guide the use of his powers and to control the weaknesses inherent with wielding The Gift. Having been freed from the influence of The Greys he became The Dreamer, locked in an epic battle with the dark intelligence of the inorganic beings who are controlling the minds of human society. They are The Greys, accompanied by their deformed human puppets The Skinwalkers.

Aaron's story begins in the summer, a few years ago. It begins with this disembodied whisper:

"If you do not leave North Carolina right now,
you will be here for the rest of your life."

The Devil's Last Stand

Written By: The Dreamer

driving home late from the mall
just got a promotion, pin and all
this southern boy thought he'd seen it all

whenever he picked up a pen and pad
he'd had a vision of futurepast
but with the good along came the bad
...so sad

one day this boy met a girl
with eyes so deep they'd sink the world
so many pages lay unfurled

whenever he picked up an old six-string
he found his fingers knew everything
and sooner or later he'd start to sing

one day he made up his mind
to leave this old world far behind
silly boy thought the devil wouldn't really mind

whenever he picked up a frequency
the devil showed him things he wasn't meant to see
but the boy had one trick up his sleeve
....it was ME

Half Past Three

Written By: The Dreamer

and now the night's descending
into a den of hell
we're at a table drinking
under a witch's spell
we are a force of nature
we are a hurricane
when Chevy can't stop laughing
I know what that smile means

"how much you wanna do?
it's only half past two"

it's only half past two he says

I'm gonna stop pretending
to be a mortal man
I'm gonna start by dancing
longer than mortals can
I hear the devil speaking
he's saying "feel no fear"
an angel's staring at me
she whispers in my ear

"why don't you come with me?
it's only half past three"

it's only half past three she say

Better

Written By: The Dreamer

this life will be better
than the one I had a year ago
cause this man is better
than the boy I used to know

my dreams are better
when I'm flying like I should
and she looks better
than I ever thought a woman could

this airport could be better
but I'll try not to complain
let go, you'll feel better
there's not always somebody to blame

they'd feel much better
if I hung my head and bailed
I'm not scared to be better
to succeed where all the others failed

so break out, we are better
we are filled with so much more
the future looks better
when you're looking through His door

The Dude's Last Chance

Written By: The Dreamer

I know a secret
just to get your feet wet
if you can open your mind
then lose the helmet
shortly after a white line
he met the divine
he was a comfortably numb man
now he's alright
now he's alright

try to understand, and you will someday
it's not part of the plan for us to live this way
there are signs all the time, they're being sent our way
and it was his last chance
that day

I know a secret
just to get your feet wet
if you can open your mind
then lose the helmet
as the house came apart
he opened his heart
now he's a comfortably numb man
with a brand new start
he's got a brand new start

he's alright

try to understand, and you will someday
it's not part of the plan for us to live this way
there are signs all the time, they're being sent our way
and it was his last chance
that day

Let it Go

Written By: The Dreamer

I can take this locomotive
I can take it all the way to town
look how high this cloud is rollin
gonna come back down

I can take this car I'm drivin
I can take it all the way to town
look how wide this interstate is
gonna slow it down

Let it go

I can take this plane I'm flyin
I can take it all the way to town
look how everything here has changed
gonna take her down

my feet are barely touching the ground
ever-so-gently being carried to town

what do I do?

let it go...

...I know
