"The Dream Station- Review"

The Dream Station are an alternative band from Brooklyn NYC. They have just released a three song EP called "This is Not the Desert." The album contains three songs and all the songs sound superb. It is really polished rock. It is much as the band name states, a dream. Don't listen to these guys expecting a proto punk band; The Dream Station are Mom friendly. They use clean guitar and bass tones backed with slightly gained rhythm. This clean attack is matched by the powerful lead vocal. Everything is amazing. If these guys were a type of soup, they would be homemade chicken noodle; not canned generic store brand tomato. - Yourband.info

Bio

The vibrant and ethereal rock sounds of the “The Dream Station” come out of Brooklyn, NYC, where the band is based. Lead Singer J.J. Gluckman's lyrics explore his life's experiences through heartfelt words and raw vocals. The bands catchy melodies are smoothly juxtaposed with Rik Cava's punchy bass lines and Frank Juan's powerful drums. Lead Guitarist Juan Cardenas's unique choice of notes and the syncopated guitar lines enrich and compliment their vivacious breed of rock music.

A unique aspect to the band's fusion has to do with the members very diverse backgrounds. Juan and Frank hail from different parts of Venezuela. Rik moved to NYC from Texas, and J.J. from Phoenix, Arizona. They each had their own unique journeys through music until they came together and finally landed as “The Dream Station” in the summer of 2009.

The band’s influences are widespread amongst all genres such as: rock n’ roll and indie rock, pop and even electronica. A consensus amongst the band: “our individual inspiration comes from very different places but somehow meets at a point where we all connect and feel very comfortable."

The dancy, indie rock of The Dream Station has been brought to crowds all over NYC at premiere venues such as "Crash Mansion," "The Bitter End," "The Studio at Webster Hall," "Sullivan Hall," "Spike Hill," "Arlene's Grocery," and others, along with out-of-state gigs in Pennsylvania and abroad including at "Juniata College" in Huntingdon, PA, and "Stage on Herr, in the "Midtown Arts Center" in Harrisburg, PA, and "Crocodile Rock" in Allentown, PA. 2011 will bring The Dream Station across East Coast borders as well as continuing along the NYC circuit. "This is Not the Desert" is now available for download on iTunes.
