Biography

2002 BOSTON MUSIC AWARDS NOMINEE
Best Punk Act

Post-punk power-pop with a hardcore heart of gold, THE DUBNICKS (Boston, MA) transcend the boring boundaries of modern / indie rock, give the finger to the elitist "scene police" and do things their own way. Armed with an uncanny knack for writing truly original, instantly addictive and startlingly insightful songs, THE DUBNICKS prove that humor, heart, style and substance are not mutually exclusive concepts when it comes to the rock. Don't expect THE DUBNICKS to concern themselves too much with fitting the cookie-cutter mold of what's currently "cool" - their objective is, and will always be to be their own favorite band - the type of of band they always wanted to see - the type of band that they'd each be proud to be a fan of for life. The bottom line? THE DUBNICKS keep it real, making rock that truly resonates with listeners - which in the end, is all that really matters.

Alright, this is usually the point in your average "artist bio" where all the pertinent information would get buried in some meandering story-style format that is usually just as poorly written as it is boring, in order to convince you, the - A.) booking agent, B.) rock writer. C.)  A&R bigwig - that said "artist" is exactly what you've been looking for all along. NOTE TO SELF

Written By: Phil Dubnick

Note to Self: don’t sell me short – I’m all you’ve got
Take good care of me – I’ll still be there when all has been lost

I won’t be swayed when everyone just walks away
And I won’t bend when no ones wants to be your friend

Note To Self: don’t shelve your dreams for anyone
Hold on tight – that guiding light might outshine the sun

And when in doubt - remember that it all works out
I know it’s hard, but try and keep an open heart
Stay sincere in the face of all your fears and you’ll be on your way

Note To Self: no one else is gonna heal these wounds
Open up – if only long enough to let some light shine through

I know you’re scared – the road you’re on might lead nowhere
Your on your own – it doesn’t mean you’re all alone
Give it time – you just might find some reason in these rhymes along the way

Note To Self (don’t sell me short – I’m all you’ve got)

Note To Self (don’t sell me short – I’m all you’ve got)

Note To Self (don’t sell me short – I’m all you’ve got)
