"PERFORMING SONGWRITER MAGAZINE"

TOP 12 DIY PICKS
NOVEMBER 2001

"In THE DESCENDENTS tradition of bang it out songwriting...something about their full-throttle stadium pop is pretty irresistible...while THE DUBNICKS are most at home in the fields of post harcore moshpit tune-smitherey, they manage to branch out in a sort of angular Superdrag/chunk fashion on numbers like "Disintegrating"." - William Tyler

"THE NOISE"

"These could very well be the anthems for a new generation. From classic Van Halen, Cheap Trick, all the way up to Green Day, Nirvana and Weezer, this is the (type of) music that triggers memories. Boy meets girl. Boy stalks girl. Then boy wakes up and realizes that fantasies are better than the reality anyway." - Sue O

"MUSIC CONNECTION MAGAZINE"

"An atomic pop cocktail that can be compared to Lit meets Weezer with a Dickies chaser." - ANONYMOUS A&R PANEL

Bio

2002 BOSTON MUSIC AWARDS NOMINEE
Best Punk Act

Post-punk power-pop with a hardcore heart of gold, THE DUBNICKS (Boston, MA) transcend the boring boundaries of modern / indie rock, give the finger to the elitist "scene police" and do things their own way. Armed with an uncanny knack for writing truly original, instantly addictive and startlingly insightful songs, THE DUBNICKS prove that humor, heart, style and substance are not mutually exclusive concepts when it comes to the rock. Don't expect THE DUBNICKS to concern themselves too much with fitting the cookie-cutter mold of what's currently "cool" - their objective is, and will always be to be their own favorite band - the type of of band they always wanted to see - the type of band that they'd each be proud to be a fan of for life. The bottom line? THE DUBNICKS keep it real, making rock that truly resonates with listeners - which in the end, is all that really matters.

Alright, this is usually the point in your average "artist bio" where all the pertinent information would get buried in some meandering story-style format that is usually just as poorly written as it is boring, in order to convince you, the - A.) booking agent, B.) rock writer. C.)  A&R bigwig - that said "artist" is exactly what you've been looking for all along.
