"‘Three Days from the Wolf Month’ EP"

"Three Days from the Wolf Month" is a six-track masterpiece, so grand as to both inspire a generation of songwriters and to discourage many from ever picking up a guitar again. - RA Music

"Music Savage"

“Le Monde Tourne Toujours, (translated, the world is still running) [is] a wonderful 5 track EP full of multi-layered folk music that puts on display his ability to craft music that evokes emotional response.” - Kyle Mitchell - Music Savage

"On Joyful Wings"

“It's awesome. I'm enjoying it immensely.” -Jim Verburg - On Joyful Wings

"I Hope Your Ears Bleed"

“There is a very raw power in his voice that reminds me of the likes of Damien Rice.” -Nathan McKinney - I Hope Your Ears Bleed

"Independent Music Promotions"

“‘The Ceaseless Progression of Time’ has both truth and wisdom in it. It’s straight forward and unusually honest without being bitter.” -James Moore - Independent Music Promotions

"Myk Check"

The Duke has been a growing sensation in Edinburgh recently; I've yet to see him play to a room that wasn't drawn to rapt attention, nor to a dwindling audience. - Myk Check

Bio

In the summer of 2010, Oklahoma native Adam Howard took on title of the Duke of Norfolk. Heavily inspired by Irish traditional music, bluegrass music, and the London-based folktronic band Tunng, Howard’s music aimed from the start to look forward as well as backwards. His first release, The Lazy Sunshine EP (March 2011), drew primarily on bluegrass influences; as he wrote more and recorded more, the modern dripped in.

In the year and a half following The Lazy Sunshine, Howard self-released a set of five EPs and collaborated on several recording projects, including one with Neighbour. He then went on a 73-day tour of the United States that took him to 43 shows in 23 states, refining his craft and developing new friends and followers.

In late 2012, the Duke of Norfolk joined New Jersey’s Mint 400 Records; in January 2013, he released his seventh EP, Le Monde Tourne Toujours, with their help. A year later he released his first full-length album Birds… Fly South! (February 2014) on Mint 400.

After some regional touring in support of the album, Howard moved to Edinburgh in the autumn of that year to study sound at the University of Edinburgh. By busking and playing pub gigs, he quickly won a loyal support base there. While in Edinburgh he performed on Scottish television and radio, played on the BBC's stage at the fringe festival, and headlined a sold-out show at one of Edinburgh's top venues. He was featured as a “Notable Artist” on NoiseTrade in February 2015, and Relix Magazine named him as an “Artist on the Rise” in April 2015.

Howard has spent 2016 touring his latest release, Three Days from the Wolf Month, in Ireland, Scotland, and continental Europe (CHE, DNK, & FRA) and has returned to the states to finish up work on his second full-length album to be finished in early 2017.
