Bio

In 2004, during the run of the theater production ‘Return to the Forbidden Planet’ (Shakespeare meets Sci-Fi and with a Classic Rock soundtrack) Maggie Carrido, Robin Giese and Jon Adams would play funky freeform grooves and decided that it was time to bring the talent to the circuit. Shortly thereafter, Muse Pagoda was formed and started playing clubs around the Seattle scene and building a repertoire of original Groove Oriented Acid Rock tunes unlike anything the world had yet heard. It was funky, soulful, tight, groovy and psychadelic.
2 years of playing in the area, Muse Pagoda was looking for the tight bottom end to fill out the electro funk that we were throwing down. In walk the Q-Funk (Quentin) with 25 years experience holding down the low end on the road. At about the same time we added DJ Intention mix master extraordinaire and scratched the world by surprise. Late 2007 we found the final piece to the puzzle. In walks George Bullock with an un human knowledge of Bebop, Jazz, Funk and rock guitar. Our sound had shifted to a more modern electro-funk groove and with the addition of George we decided it was time to rename to THE EC5 unveiled at Egan’s Jazz club 2-15-2008.
Our influences range from funk, jazz, jam, psychedelic rock, and beyond. Inspired by the root of the earth and jamming to reach the stars. Groove oriented acid rock has arrived in Puget Sound.
