Biography

The Eddie Becker Band is a cooperative of musicians who play throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Eddie is a native of Washington D.C. and has had the opportunity to play with some of the metropolitan area’s finest musicians.

Depending on the venue, the Eddie Becker Band line-up will change depending on the size and type of event. The core band is a standard guitar, bass, drums and lead vocalist. The band can also include harmonica, saxophone or feature a dynamic four-piece horn section – “The Beltway Horns”.

Eddie's guitar style incorporates many diverse influences including 60’s soul music, rhythm & blues, Chicago-style blues, rock and boogie. This diverse influence of musical styles has allowed him to work with many different musicians and bands and perform as a session guitarist for Roar Productions recording studios in Columbia, MD during the 90's.

Eddie has been playing in the Washington area since the mid-sixties and played extensively in the Washington D.C. club scene including the Hayloft Lounge, Rocket Room, Bennie's Rebel Room, Rabbit's Foot, 1320 Club, Grog & Tankard, Apple Pie and many other then-famous D.C. night clubs. Today, the Eddie Becker Band plays in the Montgomery County Maryland and Northern Virginia areas along with traveling to local beach resorts.

Eddie is an active member of the Washington Area Music Association (WAMA), Songwriter Association of Washington (SAW), the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) and the D.C. Blues Society. Eddie’s band has been a finalist in the D.C. Blues Society’s Battle of the Bands in 2004, 2005 and 2006.

The Blues Down in the Delta

Written By: Edward P. Becker

They got the blues down in Biloxi
Blues down in New Orleans
They got the blues down in Biloxi
Blues down in New Orleans
They got the blues down in the delta
Holdin' on to life by any means

Life's hard in Mississippi
In Louisiana too
Too much pain and sufferin'
They need help from me and you
They got the blues down in Biloxi
Blues down in New Orleans
They got the blues down in the delta
Holdin' on to life by any means

They got no drinkin' water
Got no food to eat
They're holed up in their attics
Refugees in bare feet
They got the blues down in Biloxi
Blues down in New Orleans
They got the blues down in the delta
Holdin' on to life by any means

Trumpet Solo

The city is a swamp
Nothin’ but misery and destruction
Lookng for a place to sleep at night
Waitin’ for reconstruction
They got the blues down in Biloxi
Blues down in New Orleans
They got the blues down in the delta
Holdin' on to life by any means

Water's breakin' down the levees
Causin' destruction down below
People cryin' and they’re beggin'
Where's the help and why so slow?
They got the blues down in Biloxi
Blues down in New Orleans
They got the blues down in the delta
Holdin' on to life by any means

They got the blues down in the delta
Holdin' on to life by any means

There's a War on the Middle Class

Written By: Edward P. Becker

There’s a War on the Middle Class©
(There’s a War on Our Sovereignty)

There’s a war on the middle class
There’s a war on our sovereignty

Wake up America, it’s time to fight
Stand up for freedom, do what’s right
There’s a call to arms, save our great country
Secure your children’s future, don’t let them go hungry

This ain’t no joke, you’re about to go broke
And live in third world poverty
They’ll trade away our rights, it is totally insane
Seize all our property though eminent domain

There’s a war on the middle class
We got to take to the streets, fight for what’s right
There’s a war on our sovereignty
Stand up together, show them our might

Got to get organized; it’s time, “let’s roll”
Governed by companies who have taken control
With global reach and unlimited thirst
Take back this government, prevent the worst

America’s changing right before our eyes
We’re fed propaganda, spoon fed lies
Everything’s secret, so you don’t even know it
Elites own the media so they’ll never, ever show it

There’s a war on the middle class
We got to take to the streets, fight for what’s right
There’s a war on our sovereignty
Stand up together, show them our might

There is a war on drugs, a war on crime
A war on poverty, killing on our dime
A war in Iraq, not sure what it’s for
Killing lots of people, I’m sure there’ll be more

Got to save America, she’s going fast
Europe’s sovereignty is a thing of the past
America will be gone as you know it today
Working for the elites for a slave’s pay

There’s a war on the middle class
We got to take to the streets, fight for what’s right
There’s a war on our sovereignty
Stand up together, show them our might

The North American Union and the New World Order
Drives down your wages using open borders
Elites want it all with their lust and their greed
They don’t care what America needs

Global companies are all running amok
Paying off the Government, hooked on a buck
It is all about greed and power you know
We gotta fight now or reap what we sew

There’s a war on the middle class
We got to take to the streets, fight for what’s right
There’s a war on our sovereignty
Stand up together, show them our might

There’s a war on the middle class
Send an SOS across the U.S.
There’s a war on our sovereignty
Send an SOS across the U.S.

We Are The Banksters

Written By: Edward P. Becker

We are the banksters, the original gangsters
We’ve been on the grift for a long, long time
We are the banksters, the old world gangsters
We’re doin’ the con and we’ll take your very last dime

Suckers

It ain’t that hard to understand what we do
We go into your country and create a coup
We create the crisis then become your savior
Nobody in the world understands our behavior

We hide it in symbols, hide it in our words
Read the fine print, it’s not that absurd
It’s a pyramid you know and we’re on the top
We’re gonna steal everything and we just can’t stop

We grab all the silver, steal all the gold
We’ll take everything that you want to hold
Take your house and all of your land
Steal all the water and leave you sand

We are the banksters, the Wall Street gangsters
We’ve been on the grift for a long, long time
We are the banksters, the Federal Reserve gangsters
We’re doin’ the con and we’ll take your very last dime

Suckers

Making money out of air as much as we need
Air is cheap and we got a lot of greed
We’ll fix that though just as sure as you breathe
A big fat tax just to make you seethe

Taxation and inflation are both the same
We just jack up the payments, it’s all in the game
Carbon and the Earth are the next big bubble
Profits will soar and our money will double

We steal all the assets, leverage all our bets
What we leave in our wake is a mountain of debts
We buy all the roads, buy all the ports
Move in our troops and harden all our forts

We are the banksters, the World Bank gangsters
We’ve been on the grift for a long, long time
We are the banksters, the global pranksters
We’re doin’ the con and we’ll take your very last dime

Suckers

We meet each year, deep in the woods
Plot how to steal all the rest of your goods
It’s a secret you know, out in full view
And we pay off the Government so they’re part of our crew

We’re going to crash the economy and steal all your wealth
Make new foods that’ll ruin your heath
We’ll take away your car so you can’t go far
Then repossess your home in the name of the Czar

It’s order out of chaos, we create the change
We’ll take that too, we got no shame
There ain’t nothing that’s sacred, it’s all in the game
We’ll do the dirty under anybody’s name

We are the lenders, the changers, the central banks
And we collect our dues with guns and tanks
The banksters, the gangsters, bringing you change
To America the beautiful, yeah, home on the range
