"Mac DeMarco support Dec 2013"

The second support act was another local band called Thee Gold Blooms. They have a retro garage band sound that made you feel like you could be listening to them perform a beach set in Cali in the 60s. Their jangly guitar and group vocals created a really cool beachy sound that could be compared to Bleeding Knees Club and the Beach Boys. Their sound perfectly complemented Demarco’s music and their active stage presence warmed the crowd up for Demarco. I was thoroughly impressed with their set, and since the gig I’ve been listening to their music available on Triple J Unearthed constantly. They’re definitely a new Perth band to watch out for! - Hey Audio Collective

"Flyrite Launch Party"

With winter’s left over chill in the air, doors opened at 8:30pm. Unfortunately, upon entry, it was obvious energy would be low. Thee Gold Blooms began optimistically with their take on garage pop. You couldn’t help not getting that start-of-Spring vibe standing there, listening to good music on a Thursday night, sliding our way to an eventful summer. Thee Gold Blooms were sixties fun, and alternating between slow and fast songs, they did well warming up Flyrite’s stiff crowd. - Spaceship News

"Tired Lion EP Launch"

Thee Gold Blooms injected some life into the situation with a soaring lead male vocalist. Possessing a swell and innocent sound, tinges of high paced rock and roll coloured the set nicely. Even though spring seems loathe to make itself known, Thee Gold Blooms were ready to sprout and brought the vague smell of summer to the venue with a fun brand of boppy surf pop. - X-Press Magazine

Bio

Perth is home to great beaches, scorching summer days, and endless flowing beer and its these ingredients that caused the city to give birth to garage surf rock bums Thee Gold Blooms. Playing sleazy garage rock and stompin surf romps with lots of jangly guitars, group vocals and a keg load of hooks - Thee Gold Blooms are the kind of band youd want at your high-school prom if you were graduating in California in 1962.

In their short lifespan Thee Gold Blooms have focused on tampering with classic sixties sounds and corrupting the innocent themes first experienced in the grooves of early Beach Boys, Kinks and Beatles records. They craft perfect little pop gems decorated with catchy melodies that provide a warm, sentimental familiarity yet that sugary sweet goodness is always offset with a drunken, sweaty swagger and cheeky grin that lets you know youre in for a fun night.

They've recently supported Canadian slack-rocker Mac DeMarco and Australian psych rock band Wolf & Cub.
