"The Elder"

Currently unsigned, The Elder has a grassroots following that is building consistently. At print The Elder would have retained the number 1 spot on BET.Com's Yaheard independent artist page for over 8 months with the single Hide Me. The 2004 Tiffany Gospel award winner has opened for Stellar Award winners Tonex & Tye Tribbett, performed the National Anthem for the New York Liberty and is currently on a promotional college tour. With his video They Laid a Trap for Me on rotation at The Word Network and the single "911" currently on New York's only 24 hour Gospel Station 1190 WLIB The Elder is taking his music ministry to another dimension. "I'm ready to take this message of healing and hope to the masses."

Bio

Like pressure turns coal into diamond over time, events in his life have shaped this young man into the prolific writer that he is today. Born and raised in Mt. Vernon, NY The Elder, as he is affectionately known is an anointed singer, musician, writer, producer and preacher. Along with his choir he has opened for Witness, God's Property, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, James Hall and Vicky Winans. He leads Praise & Worship Seminars across the Tri-State area empowering ministries with effective praise & worship techniques. Since releasing his first independent album Secret Faults with his group Vessels of Honor in 2002 The Elder has weathered many of life's storms. Each experience, the joys and the sorrows have converged to establish The Elder as the solo artist he is today. "Secret Faults and The Vessels of Honor will always be precious to me. It was my first project and holds a special place in my heart. My new material comes from a totally different place; there is a lyrical maturity that was birthed through some pain. I've gone through some major transitions in my life. Losing my father on August 4th 2005 was one of the most difficult situations Ive had to face. I had to dedicate this album to him, Bishop Jerry Fuller made me the man that I am today." I'm ready to take this message of healing and hope to the masses.

The 2004 Tiffany Gospel Award winner has opened for Stellar Award winners Tonex & Tye Tribbett, performed the National Anthem for the New York Liberty and ministered before New York Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.
