Brain-child of Mauro Ochoa, the band assertively tackles instrumental and vocal experimentation over a base layer of fundamentally traditional Latin rhythms, tightly woven into restless constructions of variable metric structure, wrapped in layers of expressive bravura and bold instrumental vigor.
With a core line-up of musicians from Colombia, Venezuela, Cuba and Australia, The Electric I uncovers unsuspected intersections of musical influences and rhythmical patterns.
