In the 1990s The Electric Sugar Children were four born and bred Scottish indiepopsters.
We released some songs on compilations and gigged extensively until everyone went their own way and did their own thing…but now in 2010, Electric Sugar Children are three quarters based in London and one quarter based in Scotland, and are back!
The band’s sound has evolved and oblique lyrical imagery replaced by stark realism, and occasional outbursts of humour.
The band released 2 CD EPs in 2010 and one digital EP, after reforming in April 2010. In April 2011, they will begin recording their debut album with producer, Tony Doogan.
Recently featured in successive months on Dandelion Radio, and with a track, Lead Singer Syndrome, featuring on Sony Playstation's London Pub Radio, the band have demonstrated a broader appeal.
The new songs sparkle and shine like the most beautiful girl's eyes on the most romantic night of the year after she has had three and a half glasses of champagne.
They are no longer twee indiepop, now more like The Bunnymen meeting The Velvet Underground at a Creation Records party, while The Pixies rhythm section cause havoc with vodka jellies in the kitchen!
